Student Parliament (SP) is the governing body of the Students’ Union and is where the Executive Officers are held accountable for the work that they do. It is where students can mandate the Executive to campaign on certain issues or to prioritise their plans for the year. The SP is made up of elected students who are known as Members of Student Parliament (MSP) who represent the students of QMU in various fields, including academic or halls of residence representation.
The SP discusses and decides action on the wider issues that effect all students at QMU. Meetings take place 5-6 times per year and MSPs are able to put forward items for agenda and are encouraged to form links with their constituents to discover the issues that should be discussed. Ongoing issues and personal issues for any student should be brought to the attention of the Student President as soon as they occur, so that these issues can be dealt with swiftly.
